2018 - 2019 Leadership Program Accepting Applications

The Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce has opened applications for potential and current leaders to join the Manistee Area Leadership Program for the 2018/2019 year.


Participants can expect to build their leadership skills, meet present business leaders, grow their network, identify community needs, form professional relationships, tour industries and leave a legacy for future classes.


The nine month program will begin with an orientation and retreat Sept. 13-14 and follow with seven days throughout the program where participants will connect with local professionals and interactively learn trends in education, healthcare, government, natural resources, tribal and more.

The Manistee Area Leadership Program is a comprehensive program provided by the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce as a forum for potential and current leaders.

Goals of the Program
  • Identify and motivate current and potential leaders.
  • Acquaint participants with community needs and problems while identifying ways to effect change.
  • Provide participants with an opportunity to meet present leaders and learn about their business practices.
  • Develop personal leadership skills in order to maximize contributions to employers, organizations and the community.
  • Create an ongoing forum for participants to gather and exchange ideas.
  • The Manistee Area Leadership Class will complete one Community Service Project each year as part of their curriculum.
